Bio: 
Bobby J. Ward lives in Raleigh, North Carolina . He is a native North Carolinian and received an undergraduate degree in biology from East Carolina University and masters and doctorate degrees in botany and plant physiology from North Carolina State University. He worked for 25 years as an environmental scientist with Carolina Power & Light Company and is now retired. He is co-editor of "A Garden of One's Own," a collection of the garden writings of North Carolina writer Elizabeth Lawrence who lived in Raleigh and Charlotte (UNC Press, 1997) and several other book and articles. Bobby's latest book is "Chlorophyll In His Veins: J. C. Rauston, Horticultural Ambassador" (BJW Books, 2009), a biography of the founder of the arboretum at N. C. State University and its director for 21 years.
