Special double October Meeting featuring Peter Korn, Sweden and Members' Plant Sale

Oct 23, 2016 - 10:30am - 4:00pm

Peter Korn of Sweden will give his first 'ground-breaking' talk in the morning at 10:30. Bring your lunch and enjoy the social time with other members while the plant sale gets set up and underway.

Find some treasures at our members' plant sale.

Mary Ann Robinson will be providing sandwiches (probably egg and tuna)  for sale to those who have not brought lunch.

Then enjoy Peter Korn's  second  talk starting at 1:30

There will be no Members Showcase this month.

Glassine envelopes for seed saving, pots and trays will be for sale:

First: Learning from the Wild; Second: Rock Garden

Peter Korn
Learning from the Wild: in this first of two talks, Peter Korn will talk about how plants adapt themselves to various conditions. He will make the case that providing conditions similar to where plants grow in the wild allows them to manage and thrive in our gardens. Rock Garden: Peter will talk about the construction and design of rock gardens and the culture of rock plants. “Rockeries can be built in almost any environment - it’s just a matter of selecting the right plants; anything from desert plants to high alpine plants.” The presentation will be illustrated mainly by photographs from Peter’s own garden.
