Drs Carole and Ian Bainbridge are both keen rock gardeners from southwest Scotland.
Ian’s career was with the Scottish government working innature conservation and ecology. Carole followed her degree in biology working in various positions including the European Commission. She eventually retrained in garden design and had her own company.
Since their retirement, they have been working on their Galloway garden, started from scratch in 2010, after they moved from Edinburgh after 31 years.
Both have been and continue to be actively involved with the Scottish Rock Garden Club in various capacities. For over forty years the Bainbridges have travelled extensively around the world in search of alpine plants.
